Concord Methodist Church was formed in 1819, making it one of the oldest Methodist churches in Montgomery County, MD. St. Andrew's Methodist Church formed in 1956 to serve a growing suburban population. The two churches merged in 1976 to become Concord-St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
CSA is deeply committed to our local community – we sponsor two Alcoholics Anonymous groups, an all gender Cub Scout Pack 465, a male Scouting BSA (formerly Boy Scouts) Troop 233, and a female Scouting BSA Troop 4. Our scouting program is excellent and among the largest in the Capital District. Our kitchen is rented by two gourmet chefs during the week. Bethesda Preparatory School resides in our Nursery School wing. All in all, nearly 30 local community groups use our facility in one way or another during the year.
CSA is also ecumenical – we open our doors for two other congregations to worship – ROCK Presbyterian Church and St. Mary Coptic Church both call the CSA sanctuary their home as well.
