I want to thank Larry Williams for ably preaching the past two Sundays. This week and next week, Rev. Avis Hoyt-O’Connor will be preaching. She is an ordained elder from the New England conference and has served UMC churches in Massachusetts and Kentucky over a twenty year period before beginning as a hospice chaplain with Montgomery Hospice in 2009. In her free time Avis enjoys photographing, traveling, reading, hiking, trying to gain fluency in Spanish, and of course, enjoying lively conversation with family and friends.
I am continuing to heal and had a good report from the doctor this week that my foot is looking good and is not too swollen - "About as good as I have ever seen." Sutures may be removed next week. It will be a long road ahead as 2 months of non-weight bearing will be followed by 3-4 months in a boot gradually increasing weight bearing with physical therapy. I miss you all so much and am eager to get back to partial work and preaching, God willing, on February 9th. I am so blessed by your prayers, cards, calls, and delicious homemade gourmet food. Thank you all so much.
Blessings,
Pastor Curtis
